What is the Master Gardener Program?Maryland Cooperative Extension (MCE) has conducted the Maryland Master Gardener Program continuously since 1978. The program?s mission is to train volunteer educators to extend the services, programs, and expertise of MCE to the general public. Specifically, to educate citizens about effective and sustainable horticultural practices and landscape problem-solving. Master Gardeners are volunteer representatives of the University of Maryland.
